Summary for STPM Term 2

Hey guys, how are you doing? I hope that the STPM 2016 candidates are prepared to cope into the "stressful environment" after a two-months rest. It's has been two weeks since schools all over Malaysia reopen.

Feel refreshed after a long holiday? Have you regain all your energy back and able to fully focus on what is ahead? I hope you are. And if you are not ready for the coming battle, my advice to you is that you HAVE to increase you pace. It's never too late to do the right thing (of course not the last day before exam).

Okay, back to the story, Term 2 had been the least stressful term among those 3. Why? Because I am able to have more time for relaxation as there were less homework to be completed. However it is just my opinion and it does not reflect the same for my friends in the Art Streams. They have more assignments and projects that Science Streams student do.

My advice for Arts Streams students, have proper planning, and do not waste even the tiniest time you have. I saw a few of my schoolmates studying in that stream stay awake until late night just to finish their projects in time before the due date. Trust your seniors advices for they also want the best for you.

In this term, my childhood activity came back (Basically for all F6 students). We did colouring in PA!!!! Yes, it is the only interesting thing to do in this term, but the tedious part it you have to be careful and a careless mistake might make you plunged into the depth of horror (Seriously this is no joke). In this term you are required to learn how to analyse and present data from a given passage and turn it into graphs. (Bear in mind it is not easy tho)

In this term, all F6 students have to (compulsory) complete  an PA assignment given by the Malaysia Exam Council (MPM). Each year has a different theme. The most tiring part is that you have be very systematic as you have do research about what you want to do and plan your own writing and analysis. To add on, you will also have to go out and survey, ask people about their opinions to certain issues and topics related to your assignments. After that, you have to edit your findings endlessly to ensure there is no mistake for the teachers to penalise you. Do not worry too much as your teacher will always be there to help you, but at the same time you also have to work hard if you want a good score. This surely makes a huge impact in your final result.

In this term, you will be also studying about Dasar-dasar Malaysia. You will read about different policies that Malaysia government has starting the day the country is established. It sure will make your head spinning with madness.

An example of graphs after interpreting and analysing the information given in passage form.
For Bio students, get yourself fully prepared!!! You will have rat dissection this term. Whether you like it or not, it is a compulsory experiment for Biology this term. Get yourself well prepared for Biology, as this term's topic is about Physiology and it could be a very tough one especially the plants.
Rat dissection.
[picture on the left] Explanations after the dissection are given by my Bio teacher (Pn.Maziah).

Chemistry was fine. We get to learn different groups of elements in a more depth manner, However, do not jump to conclusion and think it will be easy, nope! You still have to work hard to understand what is going on.

For Maths T, hahaha, you will have to welcome back integration and differentiation. You shall have Calculus for this term. No matter how you dislike it, you still have to face it with all concentration. Bear in mind, it can be very challenging if you do not grasp the basics.

Co-curricular activities were okay as well, we had orientation week for the juniors coming in as STPM 2016 candidates. The Form 6 Society had planned an Explorace for them, and I was put in charge for that. Although there were some moments that we had arguments, rejections and misunderstandings but deep down in my heart I thanked them very much. After all, all hands make light work. I was able to learn how to communicate with them and the final result is a huge satisfaction for me.

Visited the Palace of Justice.

Activities we had.

My buddies in Science Stream, including me. I missed them already!

In conclusion, Term 2 was considered my favourite term. Well, there were some events that make me felt sad and dull but that's what make life even colourful. Hope you are ready for the challenges ahead.

Do feel free to share your thoughts.

Summary for STPM Term 1

Term 1 was considered the toughest term for me as it was the first time for me to go back and study after a half-year "Hibernation" from academic books.

Like any sixth formers all around Malaysia, I thought that Form 6 (I'll put as F6 further down) was just slightly more difficult than F5. Well, it turned out that I was totally wrong. It was not only hard, but was SUPER FREAKING HARD!!! Feel surprised? That was what I felt last year.

I started studying in Lower 6 Biology in SMK ALAM MEGAH (which was the school I had my secondary education)

( Logo of my school)

The number of students in that class was not constant until it reached mid-August. It finally left with the five of us. 4 females and 1 male (which is me). That's right. I know what you are thinking. I'm the only male student in the class. Do you know how the teachers describe my class? "The thorn among the roses"

Yes it is. Even my own class teacher agreed to that when she first heard from other teachers.

I had a difficult time in handling Maths and Chemistry. I had Maths (T) for STPM. The contents in term 1 are the most in 3 terms. I spent so much time on Maths until I only had a short time for the other subjects. Bad time management you can say. The first chapter took us almost 1 and a half month to finish. It was time-consuming and I had experienced a stress that was more severe than during F5. But I didn't gave up. I kept on doing the best I could.

On the other hand, term 1's Chemistry was also the hardest to me. For those who are going to be entering Science Stream, do remember that Chemistry in Form 5 can only be considered the primary stage of Chemistry.

In first term, we were exposed to Inorganic, Physical Chemistry. It was hard for me to cope with the subject as it was totally different from what I learned during SPM stage. Luckily for me, I have a chemistry teacher who is always there to explain the things I don't understand and questions that was left unsolved.

First term's Biology was quite okay for me. It was basically F5's contents but in more details and it requires a higher level of understanding.

Pengajian Am (I called it General Studies in English) was the only subject in BM. The syllabus in this term aims to know about the structure of Malaysia from top to bottom. From Yang di-Pertuan Agong to Prime Minister and more to go..... The essays in this subject requires us to rewrite in BM, and it was quite a tough one as I did not wrote anything in BM after SPM.

Speaking of co-curricular activities, I managed to participated myself in Uniform Unit and the Society Unit. I completely neglected the Sports Unit. (Don't be like me okay.) Co-curricular activities were okay except that when you have members or "comrades" that are unwilling to support the activities held each time. Well, who am I to judge them? Let's just keep quiet for this.

That's all for this post. Being in F6 was definitely a huge turning point in my life and being able to go through Term 1 was truly an unforgettable journey. It was not my first choice enrolling to F6 and yet it was not my last choice either.

Of course, there will be some stressful feelings seeing your friends going a different path and you always think of alternate paths other than F6 and said to yourself, "The road not taken". I know it is kinda hard to endure it at first, but once you went through the hardest time, you will sure be proud of yourself. Yes, you may look back and had a glimpse of your journey, but don't stay too long in the past. Let it go.

Besides, you have your friends, family plus teachers supporting you endlessly. What could possibly go wrong with these?

The class picture I had in Term 1. In this picture, you only see 4 students, the other person was always absent when it comes to big event.

Paper chromatography experiment for Biology. My favourite experiment of the term. The colours you can see slightly shows the colour of chlorophyll.

2 December 2015

Perfect ending/ Bad ending?

Hey guys! It's feel good to be back here, although there is a lot of dust right now.
Made some brand new arrangements and it's tedious.

The HTML stuffs aren't really my strength. I have been working for 2 hours to edit to reach my needs. Yeah, you can say that I'm a bit picky but hey, my blog is like my third home (After the real one and school). So I must 'decorate' it until I feel satisfied about it. But still, there are still some flaws, in the sense that I don't have the mood to doing it anymore. Forgive my laziness.

X_X

Back to the topic, it's the second day of December, which means there are less than 30 days before a fresh new year ahead.

What have I done throughout this year? Basically, I'm just being a nerd, with only a few outings and the rest is decaying in the house.

Being an STPM student is not easy, in any stream I presume has their own hardships and struggles. I can only say that being a Science Stream student ain't easy, so does being an Art Stream candidate. Well, nothing is easy anyway. If it is easy, it means that you are not leaving your comfort zone, which is kind of dangerous to be in this cruel world.

Let me shortly describe what I have done in this whole year. Well, the early half year was the 2nd term for STPM, and it was the semester I got my Term 1 result (CGPA 3.08). It wasn't all A like an ace will have, but I'm actually happy that I did not failed any of the subjects. After all, there are rumours saying that STPM is nothing compared to SPM, it was true though. But I believe hardwork and perseverance can overcome even those impossible stuffs the naysayers would say.

And the half-year later was Term 3, which just finished 1 month ago. I'll just leave Term 2 & 3 stories in my future post...... Don't want to spill all in one post.

I'm a Biology students with initially 5 students (including me) in one big class and reduced to only two left in the past 6 months, pretty sad huh? I personally feel sorry about my classmates who quit after Term 1 but perhaps they have reason that I did not know, because I seldom talk in class.

Compared to the Physics Class, there were 7 and remained 7  until the end. What a strong will they have!

We had projects as well. Pengajian Am (General Study) project, Maths T projects, Biology and Chemistry Experiments. It was quite the things students do. Did we face difficulty? Oh yes we did! One thing that I must say the teachers there are so helpful to us. All of the teachers did their roles perfectly to aid the students. I'm grateful to those teachers!! Terima kasih cikgu-cikgu!!!

I have just finished my exams, and finally I am officially free! It was like the heavy rock on my back has instantly vanished. Hahaha, now it's the time to relax and recharge. My friends are all ready to go to work after this week, and I was like sitting and relaxing in the house, doing some reading, no money entering the pockets. :'(

Did I had a perfect year? Well, I can't tell you yet, because it's not the last day of 2015. I still have some pages left unwritten and I can't wait to fill these days with meaningful activities.

Perfect ending or bad ending? It doesn't matter, as long you treasure each moment, no matter sorrow or joyous, and keep smiling. Why waste time on something not worth to be remember?

End.
